F2: Hadjar secures championship lead with third win in 2024 main race

Isack Hadjar was not far behind at Silverstone, with the Campos Racing driver winning his third feature race of the season while title rival Paul Aron failed to score. The result put the Frenchman in the lead of the Drivers’ Championship ahead of the Hitech Pulse-Eight driver.

After taking pole position, the talented Red Bull Junior Team lost out to compatriot Victor Martins on the run to Turn 1, as the ART Grand Prix driver was able to take an early lead in the opening phase of the race.

A fast-starting Oliver Bearman relegated Hadjar to third place, but as the pit stop phase approached the Frenchman re-overtook the PREMA Racing driver and moved into second place.

Following the pit stops, Hadjar closed up on Martins and the pair went wheel-to-wheel in the closing corners of Lap 18, with a mistake by the latter at Turn 1 taking the ART off track, allowing Hadjar and DAMS Lucas Oil’s Jak Crawford to move past for position.
