Stanbic Bank named winner of URA Best Customer Service Bank 2024 award

KAMPALA – Stanbic Bank Uganda won the Best Customer Service Bank 2024 award during a high-profile gala event recently organized by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) in Kampala.

The country’s largest financial institution and principal subsidiary of Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited, also received the ‘Innovation Award’, specifically for the impact of the FlexiPay digital platform.

On behalf of the bank, Sam Bulenzi, Chief Information Officer, welcomed the recognition. He reaffirmed the bank’s unwavering commitment to providing unparalleled services and fostering innovation in the banking industry.

Bulenzi said Stanbic Bank has embarked on a journey to ensure 100% reconciliation of all taxes collected, and digitalization has been a key enabler for this goal over the past four years.

He said Stanbic’s innovative practices have set new benchmarks within the industry and solidified its position as a leader in banking innovation.

Bulenzi said winning the 2024 Customer Service Award means the bank has provided brilliant service to URA. Stanbic emerged as the Best TAT in customer query resolution, Top Bank in terms of collection volume and Top Bank in terms of value collected.

By selecting Stanbic Bank for the ‘Innovation Award’, URA recognized the bank’s pioneering spirit and forward-looking vision in the banking sector. This is highlighted by its efforts to introduce cutting-edge technologies such as FlexiPay and digital services to enhance customer experience.

FlexiPay is a payment option that allows customers to spread the cost of their purchase over a set period of time, often interest-free. This can make large purchases more manageable for customers who may not have the funds to pay in full up front. FlexiPay is typically offered by retailers or financial institutions and involves making a series of smaller payments, rather than one large payment.
