UCLA and UC Davis workers will join strike over repression of pro-Palestine protests

Academic workers will leave their jobs at UCLA and the University of California, Davis next Tuesday to protest the university system’s crackdown on pro-Palestinian protests, the UAW announced Thursday.

The expanded strike marks an escalation of the work stoppage that began Monday at the University of California, Santa Cruz, disrupting classes and pushing the university to move instruction remotely in recent days. But the university system administration called the strike “illegal” and sought a court order to end the strike.
