Celine Dion fans were left sobbing and ‘in shock’ after Amazon Prime released an emotional new trailer for the upcoming documentary I Am: Celine Dion, in which the Canadian singer breaks down in tears.

In the touching clip, the 56-year-old music legend is upset as he admits that the diagnosis of stiff person syndrome has affected his ability to perform, and his candid admission has left his fans in tears too.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, many shared their thoughts on the powerful trailer when one person posted: ‘This video broke me into pieces. What a wonderful, strong woman.’

Another wrote: “I’m totally shocked, she doesn’t deserve this situation,” while a third person admitted: “Céline Dion made me cry and her documentary isn’t out yet.”

Someone else commented: ‘I’m already crying. Queen, you deserve nothing but health, love and all the praise. Stay strong Céline, we love you so much and miss you so much,’ while another user added: ‘Here I am crying for Celine Dion again. My love of more than 30 years for this woman has no limits.’

Another fan wrote: ‘One minute watching the trailer and I can’t stop crying. Imagine watching the entire documentary (sic)’.

The comments on YouTube were similar as fans flooded the trailer with their love for the Think Twice hitmaker.

“This is just the trailer but I’m already crying like a baby,” one person said, while another wrote, “OMG that shot of her crying stabbed and hurt me.” All the best to you Celine.’

A third posted: ‘I love you Celine with all my heart. I had tears in my eyes watching this,” and a fourth added: “I didn’t know someone was chopping onions here. We love you, Celine.’

In a shocking part of the trailer, a 911 call is heard against the backdrop of Las Vegas, where Celine held an epic residency until June 2019.

He’s not sure when or why the 911 call was made, but it was likely due to his struggle with stiff person syndrome.

Celine revealed in December 2022 that she had been diagnosed with the degenerative disease.

Stiff person syndrome (SPS), also known as stiff man syndrome, is a rare neurological disorder that causes progressive muscle stiffness and spasms.

Fans will see the struggles the mother of three has faced behind the scenes after she was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome.
The full documentary, titled I Am Celine Dion, will be available to watch on Amazon Prime on June 25.
British singer Jessie J shared the trailer on her Instagram story and described Celine as a ‘legend’.

Spasms may be painful, come and go, and may worsen over time. Stiffness usually affects the muscles of the torso, but it can also affect the arms and legs.

Towards the end of the trailer, the mother of three promises her fans that she will do anything to save her voice, which she describes as “the driver of my life.”

‘When your voice brings you joy, you are your best self. I need my instrument’, as various clips of Celine recording music and performing over the years play.

‘I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder and before I wasn’t ready to say anything, but now I am,’ she admits, before adding: ‘I look at my life and I love every part of it.’

Referring to his live performances, he then says, “It’s not hard to put on a show, you know, it’s hard to cancel a show.”

‘I’m working hard every day, but I have to admit it’s been a struggle. I miss him so much. The people… I miss them.’

The trailer ends with her saying, “If I can’t run, I’ll walk.” If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. But I won’t stop, she won’t stop.

In December 2023, Celine’s older sister Claudette revealed that her sister no longer “has control over her muscles.”

‘He’s working hard, but he has no control over his muscles. What breaks my heart is that she has always been disciplined,” Claudette told 7 Jours.

‘She has always worked hard. Our mother always told him: “You’re going to do well, you’re going to do well.”

He continued: ‘It is true that both in our dreams and in hers, the goal is to return to the stage. In what quality? I don’t know.’
